iTero Digital Impressions
The Element, powered by iTero, is used to take full mouth orthodontic 3-D digital dental impressions. The iTero Element scanner eliminates the need to take dental impressions with impression material. These highly accurate, powder free, digital impressions are taken using laser and optical scanning technology. Click on the images below to enlarge.
Dental Digital Impressions

Invisalign Digital Impressions
The iTero Element scan replaces the need for PVS Invisalign impressions. This highly accurate scan is sent directly to Invsalign who assigns it to the referring doctor's account. The referring doctor can then log into the account and fill out an Invisalign prescription for the patient. Since no "auto-fill" occurs during an invisalign scan, the technician must accurately capture all the anatomy resulting in a longer scan time, averaging 30 minutes, compared to a standard digital impression scan time of 15-20 minutes. Missing anatomy is seen as a blue void in the invisalign scan, as indicated in the samples below.
